LaVerne Yarbrough Patterson Brown, 81, of Searcy, went to be with the Lord January 19, 2018 at St. Vincent’s in Little Rock.  She was born July 15, 1936 at Crosby, Arkansas to the late Charlie and Flossie Harrison Yarbrough.
     She was a 1954 graduate of Searcy High School and a member of Baptist Tabernacle Church in Searcy.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who would go out of her way to help anyone.  Prior to her retirement, she worked for Magic-Mart Retail Store and taught preschool at Kensett and later Searcy.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Patterson; and two brothers, Tuffy and Vendell Yarbrough.
     She married Donnie Brown April 29, 1979 at Searcy, Arkansas; he survives.  She is also survived by two sons, Regie Patterson of Beebe and Johnny Brown (Kelly) of West Point; a daughter, Tanya Patterson Herndon of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Bridgett, Cole, Cody, and Kalie; one great granddaughter, Magnolia Rose; two brothers, Phillip Yarbrough of Memphis and Buddy Yarbrough of Searcy; Mildred Fisher and Oleta Yarbrough both of North Little Rock; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
     Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett.  Burial will follow at White County Memorial Gardens.
