Brady Veldon Hoggard, 82, of Searcy passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017. He was born July 26, 1934 in Poughkeepsie, AR in Sharp County.

He is survived by his three children, Phil Hoggard (Judy) of Searcy, Kim Hoggard Himstedt (Henry) of Cabot, and Brad Hoggard (Roxanne) of Memphis, TN, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Wayne Hoggard and Dale Hoggard, and two sisters, Dora Mae Redding and Euna Fay Parsons.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 and a half years, Marvene Hutchison Hoggard; his parents P. T. and Norma Hoggard, his brother Ray Hoggard, and a grandson, Jay Wesley Hoggard.

Brady grew up in a migrant farming family in Northeast Arkansas where he gained his lifelong hard work ethic. He later worked in the grocery business and eventually bought his own grocery store in Lonoke, which he owned for 16 years. Brady and Marvene moved to Searcy in 1992 where they developed many deep friendships but no bond was stronger than the love they shared for each other. He will always be remembered for his quiet, gentle nature, his practical jokes, and his love for deer hunting.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at Foothills Church of Christ in Searcy.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at the church.  Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Searcy.
