What a great and gentle man. God's man. Robin and I were so young when we moved to Shreveport. We immediately had family because of the love of Pat and Janey and others like them. He will always be my "Elder". May God continue to Bless his family and all whose hearts were touched by this great man.

So sorry to hear about Pat's passing. He was a spiritual giant to Rhonda and myself. Coming out of college to our first jobs at Shreve Christian and attending Southern Hills Church of Christ made a tremendous mark on our lives. To have the influence of Pat and Janie on our lives and to interact with these great Christians and their families made memories that we will never forget. Pat, we will miss you and look forward to our reunion in heaven. Janie, we love you and pray for your comfort. God bless!

Dennis and I were so sorry to hear of the parting of a dear friend and mentor from our earlier years in Shreveport. What a hero of the faith he was and wonderful family man! We repeatedly have told others through the years that Pat and Janie were mentors to us in our young adult years and as we were raising our family. They were a couple we could always look up to, great Christian examples who modeled love for each other and their family and who were great parents to emulate! What valuable memories we have of them and of the children in their earlier years! Lord bless you Janie and family. A man of God is welcomed home by the Father. We love you,
Dennis and Kathy Davenport, Monroe, LA

What a joy it was when our two Pats would celebrate the same birthday, St. Patrick's Day. We have many wonderful memories of the times we spent together around a birthday cake and also studying our Bibles in Sunday morning class at church. We loved Pat and we love you, Janie. We are so sorry you have lost him, and hope you can put your sadness behind you soon. In Christian love, Pat & Eddie Best

Dear Shipman Family,
The years we all spent at Southern Hills Church of Christ were amazing. The joy and fellowship that we shared as families are priceless.
The greatest joy of all is knowing that Pat is now where he has always wanted to be. He proved that in how he lived each day of his life.
We love you and know how much you are hurting and how much you will miss him. He was a great Christian man.

Mrs. Janie and your precious family. I rejoice with you in Mr. Pat's heavenly flight. Both of you meant so much to John and I when you lived in Dothan. When I think of Pat Shipman, I think of a gentle giant. Such a wonderful man that I greatly admired. He always had kind words and was truly interested in what was going on in my life whenever I would see him. It's been many years since I have seen him, but I have fond memories of spending time in the Shipman home. He was truly a wonderful Christian example!

I have so many fond memories of the Shipman family during their years in Hutchinson. The children were some of my very favorite to babysit and my parents (Bill and Racine) truly enjoyed socializing with Pat and Janie. I am so sorry to hear of his passing but how blessed you must all feel to know he was such a faithful servant of his and our Lord.
