Shirley Ann Fort

Shirley Ann Fort “Nana”, age 87 of Beebe, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on March 28, 2023.  She was born August 1, 1935 in Mt. Sylvan, TX to the late Edgar Owen and Jimmie Denham Norris.  Shirley was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church in Beebe, and enjoyed spending time with her church family.  She was known for her cooking, and love for her family and friends.  She had a passion for decorating for holidays, but her favorite was Christmas.  She would have at least 13 Christmas trees decorated all around her home making it  warm and welcoming for family and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Fort, Jr, and sister, Joyce Dalton.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 ½ years, Leonard Fort, sister, Geneva Baskin (John), children, Terri Langston (Doug), and David Fort (Kim), grandchildren, Shaina Drent (David), Kendra Roberts (Jason), Tiffany Parnell, Jennifer McMahan (Tim), Lindsey Fort (Ben), Zack Fort, Brayden Fort, and Nathan Fort, great-grandchildren, Logan, Landon, Lexi, and Layton Parnell, Ansleigh, Lillie-Jo, and Brantley McMahan, Kinley Roberts, and Adalynn Hurt, four very special nieces, one very special nephew, and daughter in laws, Vicky Hess and Lisa Fort.

The family would like to thank her loving and caring CNA’s, Melissa and Jenna, and the staff of Beebe Retirement Center.  The wonderful and caring team from Arkansas Hospice, Chaplin Charles, and her social worker, Allison, and special friends, Larry, Tommy, Pat, Mike and Robbin Baker, Kim Pruitt, and Denise C., for their never-ending care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that a donation be made to the Union Valley Building Fund.

 A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Beebe Cemetery in Beebe, AR. Pastor Tommy Miller will be officiating.
