Samuel Roberts Obituary

Mr. Samuel “Wayne” Roberts, 76, of Searcy lost his battle to cancer June 26, 2020.  He was born November 9, 1943 at Searcy to the late Chester Alva and Evelyn Sterling Roberts.  He married his beloved wife, Rosa Bolton Roberts, September 2, 1966.  Together they shared 53 years of matrimony.
Wayne received his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas.  He taught math and science in both junior and senior high school.  He was a spirited man who prevailed against what doctors predicted.
Along with his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sister Ann Bailey.  She also lost her battle to cancer.
Left to remember him are his wife, Rosa; two sons, Christopher Roberts (Anne) of Little Rock and Jeffrey Roberts (Lisa) of Hoover, Alabama; three sisters, Rebecca Collier of Beebe, Janie Wilson of Searcy, and Patsy Jones of Prague, Oklahoma; one brother, Gary Roberts of Jonesboro; and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family wishes to express a special “Thank You” to Elite Hospice - Searcy nurses Tina, Kati, and Sharon.  You all gave us great care and because of your kindness Wayne was able to spend more time with his earthly family.
There are no services scheduled at this time due to the restrictions of COVID-19.  A private burial will be held at a later date.
