Sammy Funderburg

Sammy Glynn Funderburg, 69, of Searcy, danced his way through Heaven’s gates on March 20, 2022.      Sammy, the youngest of 7 was born in El Dorado on March 28, 1952 to the late James and Mabel Johnson Funderburg.

     He devoted his life to God’s ministries as a preacher of The Word. He never passed up an opportunity to tell people he met about Jesus. He also loved spending his weekends with his grandchildren watching them play sports or exploring God’s beautiful forests and learning history at museums.

     He is preceded in death along with his parents by an older brother, Ken Funderburg. He was also preceded by two sisters in law Lucille and Sally Funderburg

     He is survived by two sons, Brian (Sandy) of Austin, Arkansas and Nathan (Roxi) of Searcy, Arkansas and four grandchild Preston, Samantha, Blaine, and Braylon; four brothers Doyle, Bill (Marylou) and Jerry (Debbie) all from El Dorado Ark., Michael (Sheri) from Alexander, Ar., and one sister Jean from Alexander, Arkansas.

     Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 24, 2022 in the Sullivan Memorial Chapel with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
