Robert Whitney Obituary

Robert Whitney Jr. “Big Rob”, age 52, of Searcy moved from his earthly home to his Heavenly home on August 9th, 2018.  He was born November 22nd, 1965 in Kensett.
He was the eldest of five children and leaves behind his father, Robert Whitney Sr. (Gwen)of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Teresa Harrison of Sherwood, Ar., Consuelo Whitney of Jacksonville, Ar., Tina Whitney of Batesville, Ar., and Jackie Curry.
He married Rose Smith Whitney March 21, 1990 at Searcy and she remained his faithful wife of 28 years.  He also leaves four children, Roderick O. Roberson, LaToya M. Thompson (Brandon), Nicole Lasha Scruggs, and Darnell Scruggs; eleven grandchildren; one uncle, Yancy Stephens of Helena, Ar.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.      He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Stephens Whitney.
Robert joined Arnold Tabernacle CME Church at an early age and rededicated his life to Christ as an adult.  Robert was stubborn, but he had a giving heart and loved spoiling the grandchildren.  He would buy you anything you wanted but don’t expect him to share his stuff with you!  His favorite thing to do was drive semi-trucks and that was his profession for almost ten years.  His other passions were cooking and trying to beat every video game that came out.
Robert will be greatly missed.  He made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered; his memory will never be forgotten.

The family will have a memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Arnold Tabernacle in Kensett.
