Robert Gaines Gibson

Robert Gaines Gibson, age 91, of Searcy went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 5, 2022. He was born December 20, 1930, in Cleburne, Texas to the late Alonzo Newton Gibson and Lota Margaret Moore Gibson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Smith Gibson and his sister Anne Huddleston. Mr. Gibson was a United States Navy Veteran, serving at the end of the Korean War. He retired as a Civil Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry; his profession led him to travel around the world. He impacted many lives through his love for the Lord; he served as a missionary for three years in Tanzania. Mr. Gibson will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity toward others.

He is survived by his children, Meg Ireland and her husband Dwight, Robin Honey and her husband Keith, Robert Gibson, Jr. and his wife Cristey, and Jonathan David Gibson and his wife Patricia, one sister, Carol Wagner, 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2: 00 P.M. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at West Point Cemetery.
