Mitchell Jay Wood

Mitchell Jay Wood, 48, of Searcy, passed away September 17, 2021.  He was born November 14, 1972 at Searcy.
     Mitchell was a veteran of the US Army and a hard working man who was dedicated to his family.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, all things motorized but he loved the title “Pops” most of all.    
     He was preceded in death by two step-fathers, Calvin Barger and Laverl Jones; grandparents, Sam and Ima Brock and Albert and Verble Wood.
     He is survived by two children, Austin Wood (Brooke) and Kinley Wood; grandchildren, Abel and Addi Wood; his mother, Carolyn Jones and father, Wayne Wood; five siblings, Kevin Wood (Revonda), Michael Wood, Kellie Dismuke (Chris), Jacob Wood, and Brad Wood; his former wife and mother of his children, Stacy Wood; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.
     Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Sullivan Funeral Care.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Valley Baptist Church in Searcy with burial following at White County Memorial Gardens.
