Melba (Overton) English
Obituary
Melba Overton English, 88, of Searcy, passed away July 19, 2022 at her residence. She was born November 1, 1933 at Boydell, Arkansas to the late Edgar and Alma Bradley Overton.
She graduated from Bald Knob High School in 1951 and was retired from Murphy Oil Company in El Dorado, Arkansas.
She married Weldon English May 5, 1951; he preceded her in death in 1956. She is also preceded by two brothers, Herman and Grady Overton and one sister, Hazel Pearrow.
She is survived by three sons, W. Rick English of Berryville, Arkansas, Jack E. English of Searcy, and Galen English (Carolyn) of Fremont, Michigan; four grandchildren, Hilary Souza, Miranda English, Jennifer Evans, and Nathan English; as well as three great-grandchildren, Judah Evans, Gage Souza, and Galen English.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday July 22, 2022 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Searcy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and aide Renee, nurses Heather and Crystal for their care and compassion over the past few months.
