Johnny Charles Hamby

Johnny Charles Hamby, age 66, of Searcy went to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 23, 2023. He was born December 19, 1956, in Bradford, AR to the late Harvey Winford Hamby and Geneva Steele Hamby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Junior Hamby, Harvey Alvin Hamby, Sr., and Bonnie Russell. Mr. Hamby enjoyed fishing,  listening to country music, and watching wrestling with his grandchildren.  He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and papa.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carol Hamby, his son, Samuel Wayne Bench and his daughter, Sheila Ann Bench Garcia and her husband Samuel Garcia, his sister Connie Russell and his brother Elgin Hamby, his grandchildren, Chad Joshua Sharp, Sr., Stacey Ann Sharp Byrd, and Chandler Lee Garcia and great-grandchildren, Chad Joshua Sharp, Jr., Stormy Lynn Byrd, Angel Lynn Sharp, Alysa Marie Byrd, Anastasia Eve Nicole Sharp. And Charles Hunter Byrd. Although he isn’t here with us on earth, he will never be forgotten, forever in our hearts he will remain until we meet again in heaven.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, at Sullivan Funeral Care.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett. Interment will follow in Coffeeville Cemetery.
