James Edward Craig

James Edward Craig, age 88 of Judsonia, passed away March 27, 2023.  He was born July 15, 1934 in Cherry Valley, AR to the late James Craig and Elizabeth Gertrude Stokes, who raised him with her second husband, Joseph Murphy. James was a proud Navy Veteran that later worked in construction.  He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and sports fan. James attended the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Sherwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia Callahan Craig, and a sister, Patsy Murphy Parrish.

He is survived by his five daughters Elizabeth Bach (Kenneth) of South Hadley, MA; Linda Craig, Mary Ellen Craig, and Jeanette Peters (John), all of Judsonia; and Faith Fisher (Brad) of Vilonia.  He leaves his grandchildren Adam Bach (Ellery), Julie Mallon (Michael), David Bach (Nichole), Katherine Peters, Calleigh Fisher, and Colin Fisher, as well as six great-grandchildren and his brother, Zane Grey Murphy.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett.
