Edward Hamil

Edward Glenn Hamil, age 82, of Searcy went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2023. He was born March 20, 1941 in Indiana, PA to the late Paul Ward Hamil and Beatrice Ruth Tillett Hamil. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Clifford Ward Hamil and his sister Janet Mae Blystone. Mr. Hamil was a 1959 graduate of Indiana Joint High School, following his graduation he joined the United States Army. He later went on to a receive his Doctorate in Theology from Andersonville Southern Seminary. He pastored many churches throughout the country during his 50 years in the ministry. He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Searcy where he led a Men’s Sunday School Class. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and collecting Eagles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Aelena Hamil, his children, Pamela Hamil, Phyllis Garrett,  Ruth Jennings, Mark Hamil and his wife Susan, Judy Bentley and her husband Kevin, and Paul Hamil, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Dixie Hamil, and many nieces and nephews.
