Dorothy Remy Obituary

Dorothy Jean Cavett Remy, 87, of Searcy, passed away February 27, 2019 at Unity Health in Searcy.  She was born April 7, 1931 at Memphis, Tennessee to the late George L. and Lillie Cates Cavett.
     Mrs. Remy was a hardworking, dedicated wife and mother who worked alongside her late husband on the family farm.  She was a member of the Kensett United Methodist Church.  She was also a longtime member of the Extension Homemakers Club.  She was extremely talented.  She was famous for her cooking, particularly her delicious pies.  Throughout the years, she made many beautiful quilts and enjoyed crocheting doilies in her past time as well as reading.  She also loved gardening and raising flowers.
     She married William Remy June 5, 1948 at West Memphis, Arkansas; he preceded her in death February 4, 2017.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Altha Blankenship and Fanny Cavett.
     She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Remy Shepherd (Leon) of Pangburn and Rosemary Remy of Searcy; one brother, George L. Cavett Jr. (Marianne) of Normandy, Tennessee; as well as many friends and extended family.
     Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Kensett.  Burial will follow at Kensett Cemetery.
