Donna (Wright) Baines

Donna Lou Wright Baines, age 68, from Searcy, Arkansas died in her home surrounded by family and friends on October 7, 2021. She was born November 15, 1952 to Ray A. and Ann Wright in Searcy, Arkansas. She was raised in Paragould, Arkansas and attended Crowley’s Ridge Academy. The family moved back to Searcy in 1968 and she graduated from Harding Academy in 1970. She graduated with an elementary education degree from Harding College in 1974. Donna met the love of her life, John Baines, while attending high school. They married in 1972 and were happily married for 49 years. 

She taught school in Arkansas and Iowa and managed her husband’s chiropractic clinic until her death. Donna was an active member, as an elder’s wife, at the College Church of Christ participating in ladies’ Bible class, prayer groups, and home Bible study. She also enjoyed Bunco and the birthday club throughout her adult life, and she spent many happy hours playing Scrabble with her mother. She is survived by her husband John Baines, her children, Sarah (husband Mark Plath), Justin (wife Liz Baines), Emily (husband Jesse Shelton), grandsons Bryce, Hudson, and Parker Plath, Ben and Gideon Baines, Titus, Noah, and Roman Shelton, her mother Ann Wright, her sister Susan (husband Glenn Dillard). She was preceded in death by her father Ray A. Wright, sister Barbara and her husband Mark Moore, her brother David, and his wife Melanie Wright. 

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 16th at 10 a.m. in the College Church of Christ auditorium. There will be a visitation immediately following.
