Carl Short Obituary

Carl Boyd Short, 85, of West Point, passed away November 9, 2019 at his residence. He was born December 17, 1933 at Manila, Arkansas to the late Frank and Ima Short.
     Mr. Short retired from Speed Queen / Amana after 26 years of employment.  He loved to stay busy.  You could often find him working on lawn mowers, mowing lawns, and building bird houses.  He loved his family, but his grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Gentry, Rena Hoffner, and Cora Lee Looney; and one brother, Junior Short.
     He married Daisy Jane Lawrence Short March 21, 1970 at Searcy, who survives.  He is also survived by one daughter, Donna Sherman of West Point; two sons, Donald Short (Dana) of West Point, and Danny Short (Sherri) of Searcy; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Lindsey, Alyssa, William, Lana, Laci, Libby, Tara; nine great grandchildren, Krystal, Abby, Mazie, Lucas, Danica, Daltyn, Lexi, Jasmine, and Layla; one brother, Richard Short (Sue) of Searcy; and two sisters, Opal Karns and Dela Medlock both of Michigan.
     Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Sullivan Funeral Care.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2019 in the Sullivan Memorial Chapel with burial following at West Point Cemetery.
