Billy Gene Watson

Billy Gene (Bill) Watson went to be with Jesus on September 3, 2021. He left this earth on a beautiful day while enjoying his favorite hobby: fishing. It was no secret that Bill loved fishing and telling “fish tales” about his adventures. If it could be caught on a fishing pole he was up for the challenge, and he loved spending time with friends and family on the water. 

     Bill loved Jesus, his family, and people. He had been in ministry for 45 years serving in many Baptist Churches. His final pastorate was his loving church family at First Baptist Church in Bald Knob, Arkansas. 

Bill loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He was often heard bragging on his son, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

     Bill was preceded in death by his father, Billy Dan Watson; mother, Paula Mae Knight; step father, D.W. (Dorse Wayne) Knight; and by his grandparents, Clifford and Eva Root, and Homer and Annie Watson.

     Survivors include his wife, Karen Watson; son, Andrew Watson (Marla); brother, Jim (Edna)Watson; sister, Dana Kay (Kevin) Newsom; grandchildren, Ty and Julia Watson; nieces, Lindsay Watson and Christina (John) Anderson; nephews Devin Langford and Drew Langford; and great nieces and nephews, Ethan, Cerra Cathryn, Brantley, and Nora.

     A celebration of his life will be on September 11, 2021 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church in Bald Knob, Arkansas.
