Willie Marcelle (Vaughn) Hopper

Willie Vaughn Hopper, 95, of Kensett, went to be with the Lord May 24, 2019 at her residence.  She was born October 12, 1923 at West Point to the late Billy and Lena Finch Vaughn.
     Mrs. Hopper was the oldest member of Kensett First Baptist Church where she attended for over 50 years. She was also a member of Mary-Martha Sunday School Class and SunShiner’s as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
     She married Gerald Hopper May 12, 1943 and he preceded her in death June 11, 1982.  Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Wells; two brothers, Jim and Kenneth Vaughn; and one sister, Faye Woodle; and son-in-law, Carrol Robertson.
     She is survived by three sons, Robin Hopper (Donna) of Searcy, Jerry Hopper (Madelyn) of Kensett, and Terry Hopper (LeeAnn) of Searcy; one daughter, Beverly Robertson of Kensett; she was affectionately called “Mammaw” to her grandchildren, Carolanne Robertson Leasure, Barbara Jean Wells, Russell Robertson, Todd Wells, Amy Wells Butler, Robbie Robertson, Suzanne Hopper Roach, Alicia Hopper Easley, Robert Hopper, Ross Hopper, Taylor Hopper Felts, Jordan Hopper; great grandchildren, Cody, Franny, Tiffany, Beau, Riley, Laken, Lindsey, Isom, Hannah, Rickie, Anna, Owen, Avery, Grady, Hadley; and two great-great grandchildren, Connor and Cassie; one sister, Rachel Brown of Searcy; one son-in-law, Gene Wells; as well as a legacy of extended family and friends.
     The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Arkansas Hospice and nurses Annie and LaDonna as well as Dr. Dan Davidson of Family Practice; and James Henley of Meals on Wheels; and her caregiver, Carolyn Fergus.
     Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2019 at Kensett First Baptist Church where funeral services will begin at 11:00.  Burial will follow at Kensett Cemetery.
