Phillip Glen Vanwinkle

Phillip G. Vanwinkle, 46, of Searcy, went to be with the Lord September 2, 2019 at his residence.  He was born June 5, 1973 at Little Rock.
     Phillip graduated from Central Arkansas Christian School in 1991 and went on to Harding University to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996.  After graduation, he went to California to try a career as a cartoon animator and a stand-up comedian.   As time went on, he decided to attend the Memphis School of Preaching, which led him on a six-year missionary journey to Asia and Australia.  In 2015, he returned to the states to continue preaching, finally settling in Searcy where he was the minister of Foothills Church of Christ.  Throughout his missionary and preaching work, he dedicated time to Truth for the World Ministries, which is a worldwide outreach for the Church of Christ.
     Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Heffington Vanwinkle.  He is survived by his wife Phuong Vanwinkle;  father, Leslie Vanwinkle of Ozark, Missouri; brothers, Bryan Vanwinkle (Laura) of Springfield, Missouri and Daniel Vanwinkle of Republic, Missouri; three nieces, Caylen, Kristin, and Alayna; as well as two nephews, Slayton and Caleb.
     Visitation will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Foothills Church of Christ with funeral services at 11:00 am with Bro. BJ Clarke, officiating.  Burial will follow at Brownsville Cemetery in Lonoke.
