Martha M Chapman

Martha Chapman, 57, of Searcy passed away January 5, 2020 at UAMS in Little Rock.  She was born January 24, 1962 at Rockford, Illinois.
     Some people only walk this earth for a short time.  Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.  Last week, Martha Chapman, rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings. 

     Martha cherished all family celebrations and family traditions.  She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren to dance, draw and to learn math.  Her masterful chess and card playing skills will forever be missed.  She treasured the time she spent with her family making and sharing her secret recipe for her scrumptious white coconut cake and wonderful potatoes salad. 

     She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Young.
     She married John Chapman June 7, 2002 at Providence, Arkansas who survives.  She is also survived by her mother, Betty Young of Searcy; four daughters, Janetta Castleman (John) of Pleasant Plains, Opal Gabriel (Luis) of Newport, Cynthia Aguilar (Manuel) of Kensett, and Kristin Hernandez (Antonio) of Kensett; one son, Robert Ham (Tess) of Bald Knob; twelve grandchildren, Christopher, Sean, Zane, Johnathan, Olivia, Adriana, Wyatt, Jewel, Juan, Abram, Max, and Ben; six brothers, Edward Hendrix (Tressa) of Judsonia, Maurice Hendrix (Pat) of Judsonia, John Hendrix of Pangburn, Boyce Hendrix (Rita) of Bald Knob, Royce Hendrix and Fernon Hendrix (Wendy) both of Little Axe, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lisa Clark (Jerry) of Heber Springs and Lila Snyder, Wellston, OK; Step Brother- Larry Young, Wife Leanne from Lubbock TX.  Step Brother Jim Young, wife Anna from Bryant AR. Step Sister Sharon Horton, from Grandview Missouri.  Step sister Shelley James from Kansas City Missouri.  as well as numerous extended family and friends.
     A drop in memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Astride Rose Center, Searcy Ar.
