Leon Arthur Stipes

Leon Arthur Stipes, 64, of Mt. Pine, Arkansas, went to his heavenly home July 5, 2019 at Unity Health in Searcy.  He was born January 13, 1955 at Bradford to the late Leon and Maxine Dunivan Stipes.
     Arthur served in the Navy from 1973 to 1979.  He was a crane operator for 22 years, building 46 bridges in his career.
     In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Darrel Augustus Stipes; sisters, Laverne Harris, and Kathy Jean Stipes.
     He married Bonnie Stipes November 22, 1989 at Mt. Pine, Arkansas; she survives.  He is also survived by two step children, Steven Walz and Ann Enloe (Keith); step grandchildren, Lilyan Enloe, Brandon Bumpus; two brothers, James Mack Stipes (Christy) of Searcy and George Stipes (Amy) of Hot Springs; three sisters, Diane Collier of Searcy, Karen Lasley (Richard) of Searcy, and Dora Lindsey (Michael) of Searcy; as well as his best friend and shipmate brother, Leonard George of Salt Lake City, Utah.
     The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
