Joseph "Lynn" Box

Joseph “Lynn” Box, 70, of Searcy, was carried to Heaven March 13, 2019 at Unity Health in Searcy.  He was born May 17, 1948 at Little Rock to the late Joseph Lynnwood Box and Gabriella Tennpenny Simmons.
     Mr. Box graduated high school in Hawaii during his first tour of duty after enlisting in the US Navy.  He went on to serve for 26 years, retiring as Chief Petty Officer.  After being honorably discharged, he resided at New Orleans, Louisiana; later returning to Judsonia, Arkansas to care for his father.  He eventually set roots in Searcy, Arkansas.  Lynn received the Lord as his Savior as a teenager and was baptized.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Searcy.  He loved his family fiercely and so enjoyed his time with them.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Houston Simmons; daughter, Lisa Byrd; two sisters, Alice Fay Lemire and Ada Jean Searfoss.
     He married Donna Zornes Box November 12, 2011 at Searcy, Arkansas; she survives.  He is also survived by three sons, Brandon Box (Lauren) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Matt Perryman of Searcy and Scott Perryman (Lisa) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two daughters, Robin Cochran (Mike) of Smyrna, Georgia and Amanda Perryman of Searcy; ten grandchildren, Valerie, Angel, Brad, Ellie, Brian, Holly, Chaylin, Eli, Micah, and Samuel; three great grandchildren, Gabriel, Maria, and Lucille; one sister, Jane Scarborough (Raymond) of Judsonia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
     The family will have a memorial service 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Temple Baptist Church in Searcy.
