JW Holloway, 91, of Griffithville, died March 24, 2017 at his residence.  He was born March 23, 1926 at Jasmine, Arkansas to the late John Wesley and Bertha Ellen Fry Holloway.
     He was a member of Griffithville Methodist Church and a 1944 graduate of Griffithville High School.  He was a retired Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy, serving in WWII and also retired from the United States Postal Service.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Collinsworth, Fern Huddleston, and Ruth Riner; five brothers, Alter, Carthel, William, John, and George Holloway; and one daughter, Roberta Lee Blue.
     He married Marilyn Rorvig Holloway April 6, 1972 at Carson City, Nevada; she survives.  He is also survived by five daughters, Sandra Stanford (Wayne), Marcia Monroe (Tim), Joan Cannon, Juanita Nicholson (Bob) all of California and Melinda Vinson (Dinny) of Missouri; as well as several grandchildren and his dog Pixie.
     Cremation was chosen and no memorial services are planned.
