Ella Delores (Burrage) Whitney

Ella Delores Whitney, 69, of Searcy, went to be with the Lord April 11, 2019 at Unity Health in Searcy.  She was born January 23, 1950 at East St. Louis, Illinois to the late Learthia and Verline Shell Burrage.
     Mrs. Whitney was a 1967 graduate of Saginaw Michigan High School.  She accepted the Lord at a young age and was united with Bethlehem Baptist Church in Searcy.  She loved children and had a special place in her heart for them.  She loved to travel and getting her nails done.  She was lovingly called “granny” by many and will be remembered as an excellent cook.
     She married Donald Whitney January 18, 1968 at Kensett, Arkansas; he preceded her in death September 19, 2018.  Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Scott; four brothers, Henry, Augusta, Calvin, and Billy Wayne Burrage.
     She leaves two sons, Kevin Whitney of Searcy and Donald Whitney (Tracy) of Beebe; daughter, LaDesta Miller (Cleotis) of Rochester, NY; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren eight sisters; four brothers; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
     Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at Sullivan Funeral Care.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Searcy.  Burial will follow at Crow Cemetery.
