Robert and Lawanda Emberson, of Beebe, recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary June 11 and passed from this life just one day apart after spending a lifetime together.
     Robert, 83, was born November 6, 1933 at Havana, Arkansas to the late Monroe and Naomi Witt Emberson.     He died July 22, 2017 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock following a brief battle with colon cancer.  After graduating school, he was drafted into the Army serving in Germany.  He loved to hunt and fish and could fix anything.  He was a grateful person, and showed his love through hardwork and dedication.  Even in the last hours, he impressed hospital staff through his humor and appreciation for their work. 
     Lawanda was born November 3, 1938 at Russellville to the late Joe and Leoda Carter Metz.  She died July 23, 2017 at the family residence following a brief battle with lymphoma and kidney failure.  She was a loving and caring person who was full of laughter.  She was a caretaker by nature, and along with her husband, were foster parents for several years.  She was a God fearing woman, always praying and passionate about her family.  She loved to keep busy and very active until her health failed.
      To their union of marriage, survives three sons, Breck Emberson (Paula) of Searcy, Greg Emberson (Dana) of Beebe, and Mark Emberson (Monica) of Searcy; two daughters, Karla Money (Kevin) of Beebe, and Amanda Jones (Michael) of Beebe; eleven grandchildren, Audrey, Caleb, Colby, Jared, Allee, Adam, Amy, Andrew, Jordan, Jacob, and Aaron; fourteen great grandchildren, Reese, Kora, Kitt, Emberlynn, Jackson, Ava, Emma, Lincoln, Hayden, Mason, Tanner, Aubrey, Hadley, and Presley; as well as Robert’s three siblings, Floyd Emberson of Dardanelle, Daniel Emberson of Ola and Frances Eaton of Dardanelle; and Lawanda’s siblings, Jerry Metz (Ann) of Hot Springs, step sister, Jo Ann Eichler (Bill) of Texarkana, and step brother, Johnny Metz (Doris) of Clarksville; and step mother, Juanita Metz of Russellville.
     In addition to their parents, they were preceded in death by a granddaughter, Victoria Emberson; and three brothers and two sisters of Robert.
     Graveside services for the Embersons will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Antioch Cemetery at Beebe.
