James Eaker Obituary

James Eaker, 78, of Augusta, passed away February 8, 2018 at his residence in Augusta.  He was born May 13, 1939 at Jefferson, Missouri to the late Hobert and Helen Healy Eaker.
     Mr. Eaker was a jack-of-all-trades, holding many occupations throughout his life, he built mobile homes in California; later worked for Kennon Farms in Wynne, Ark. as a truck driver and dispatcher; he worked for American Car and Foundry in St. Louis as a welder; managed tow boats at Taggart’s Grainery in Augusta; and lastly before retiring he worked for Michael John Gray Trucking in Augusta as a dispatcher.  He enjoyed a good game of cards with his friends as well as being an avid Nascar fan.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Lynn Eaker; two brothers, Richard and Bobby Eaker.
     He married Martha Rainey Eaker December 24, 1959 at Advance, Missouri; she survives.  He is also survived by three sons, David Eaker (Tammie) of Jonesboro, Brian Eaker of McCrory, and Russell Eaker of Bradford; one daughter, Crystal Ball of Augusta; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Carolyn Elam of Farmington, Missouri, Joyce Yamnitz (Carl) of Sedgewickville, Missouri, and Dorothy Matthews (Paul) of Kansas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
     The family will receive guests and friends this Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 11 am until 5 pm at their residence.
