George F. Sloan, 68, of Garner, passed away November 2, 2017 at Unity Health in Searcy.  He was born November 5, 1948 at Searcy to the late Milton and Rella Mae Ashworth Sloan.
     He was an excellent well driller and a great carpenter; he also loved to work on engines, lawn mowers, as well as hunting and fishing.  Most of all he loved his family and friends and reading his bible.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric Sloan; two infant brothers, Andrew and John Lee Sloan; three other brothers, James, Jim, and Daniel Sloan; and one sister, Sue Allen.
     He is survived by his loving companion of 35 years, Brenda Bennett of Garner; daughter, Carrie Kelsey (Steven) of Beebe; two sons, Paul Bennett (Mary Ann) of Oklahoma; and Billy Bennett (Rachel) of Garner; one brother, Dewey Sloan (Faye) of Garner; four sisters, Lillie Howell and Jane Taylor of Searcy, Bessie Inman of Kensett and Blanche Lawson of Searcy; several grandchildren and a host of friends.
     Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett.  Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 7 at Garner Cemetery where burial will follow.
