Oleta Alcorn

Gained her wings April 14, 2024 after a long fighting battle with Parkinson’s disease. Oleta was born in Newport, Arkansas on August 26,1948 to Sam and Hazel Osborne. She had 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
Oleta’s Early years: she was raised in Newport and a 1966 Graduate of Newport High.

Oleta married (LD) Loy Donald Alcorn on October 21, 1970 in Matagorda, Texas. And to this union had two sons: Steven and Donny. Oleta lived in Rising Star, Texas and ran a successful business in Brownwood, Texas for many years. Most of the time you would find her in the kitchen trying a new recipe she found on social media or her favorite cooking show. She LOVED TO COOK and that is an understatement. Her favorite sport was football and she loved the Dallas Cowboys. She was an Avid competitor in a bowling league where she would frequently travel with her team. Oleta loved to travel. When she was well and driving she would hit the highways and loved to do surprise visits.

Oleta is preceded in death by her father and mother, husband and son, Steven, two brothers, Bobby and Sammy Osborne, two stepsons, Billy and Kevin Alcorn and her best friend Beverly Reid.
She leaves to mourn:

Her son, Donny and daughter in love, Camille Alcorn, two grandsons, Levi and Logan and a great grandson, Benton. Her very special nephew who was like her son, Micah Osborne.
Billy Doss, (Like a brother - her dear & close cousin), Stepchildren: Bobby, Mary Ellen Alcorn, Sharon Alcorn Robinson, grandchildren: Erica Somes, Glenn Alcorn, Tiffiney Goble, David Jr, Royce, Ryne, and Dylan Robinson. Her Brother, Troy Osborne, her Sisters: Ruth West, Polly Dunham, Loreta Crawford(twin), Margaret Holt, Thelma Reed, and Helenea McBride. And many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends that she truly loved.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Sullivan Funeral Care Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until services begin at 12:30 p.m.
